Vick to Debut Against Jaguars

Michael Vick will make his Philadelphia debut in the pre-season clash with Jacksonville on Thursday. Vick has not played in an NFL game since December 31 2006 when he was with Atlanta and has since served 18 months of a 23-month sentence for his role in running a dog fighting ring. He was released from Federal custody on July 20 and has since signed a one-year contract with the Eagles, where he has been getting himself prepared at their training camp. Head coach Andy Reid has not indicated how much game-time Vick will get against the Jaguars with starting quarterback Donovan McNabb preparing for the regular season. Vick will require a favourable decision from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell if he is to be reinstated into the league – this could be made by week six in mid-October.
